Food Safety & Licensing

The Environmental Division of The Carroll County General Health District is responsible for providing licensure and food safety inspections to all permanent, mobile, and temporary food service and retail establishments, as well as investigate all food service complaints, including food-borne illnesses. Plan Review Application

All food businesses in Carroll County are required to have a food service operation or retail food establishment license issued by the Carroll County General Health District(CCGHD). If you plan to open a restaurant or retail food establishment, have extensive facility renovations or equipment replacement, change ownership and/or change your license status (i.e. change of menu or food preparation and processing methods), you must submit a plan review packet. If you have any questions regarding plan approval or licensing, please contact the Environmental Division at 330-627-4866 ext. 1522, or by emailing cren@carroll-lhd.org.
