The Environmental Division of The Carroll County General Health District is responsible for providing licensure and food safety inspections to all permanent, mobile, and temporary food service and retail establishments, as well as investigate all food service complaints, including food-borne illnesses. There are certain procedures that must be followed before a food service or retail food establishment license may be issued.
All food businesses in Carroll County are required to have a food service operation or retail food establishment license issued by the Carroll County General Health District(CCGHD). If you plan to open a restaurant or retail food establishment, have extensive facility renovations or equipment replacement, change ownership and/or change your license status (i.e. change of menu or food preparation and processing methods), you must submit a plan review packet.
