Clinical / Medical Services

 

Services offered by the Clinical Services Department include:

  • Immunizations: Clinics held every Wednesday at the Health Department. Please call for an appointment. Certain adult immunizations offered with physicians order. Click on link for more information.
  • Flu Immunizations: Special clinics are offered in the fall and early winter. Call for dates and times.
  • Prenatal and Family Planning Services: Obstetrical and gynecological services offered based on income, by appointment.
  • Pregnancy Testing: Offered Monday through Friday by Appointment.
  • Sexually Transmitted Disease Screening: Free service by appointment.
  • HIV and AIDS information: Call for details.
  • Newborn Home Visits: A nurse will set up a time to visit you and your new baby. Educational material and samples are given in addition to an opportunity to have your questions answered by a Registered Nurse.
  • Help Me Grow: Families with kids birth to 3 years of age. Click the link for more information.
  • Women’s Wellness: Clinics are held throughout the year. Ask about our free Pap smears and mammograms for women over forty years of age.
    • Pap smear
    • Clinical breast exam
    • Optional lab work (CBC, Lipids, and Metabolic Screening)
    • Mammogram referral

    • What is a CBC? - Lipid Panel? - Metabolic Screening?
  • BCMH (Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps):
    • This program offers assistance for families of children with a handicap or potentially handicap condition.
    • Call Barb at 330-627-4866 for information on eligibility or for an appointment.
  • TB Testing:
    • Offered Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
    • Your first appointment is for the skin test.
    • Your second appointment is made 48 hours later to read the test.
    • About Skin Testing
  • Lab (Blood) Draw:
    • Physician’s order required.
    • Results will be sent directly to the physician.
    • Call for an appointment.
  • Blood Pressure:
    • This free service is offered daily Monday through Friday.
    • Learn more about high blood pressure
  • HIV: Free HIV testing for persons age 13 years and older. Results given in 20 minutes. Provided by Canton City HIV Prevention Program on these Thursdays:
    • March 18th:  1:30pm-3:30pm
    • June 17th:   1:30pm-3:30pm
    • September 16th:  1:30pm-3:30pm
